Firm and fleshy, whole tomatoes
Mutti® Whole Peeled Tomatoes (Pelati) are plump, firm and versatile. These sun-ripened 100% Italian tomatoes have a rich flavour, dense texture, and bright red colour. With only tomatoes and tomato juice, no additives or preservatives, they break down quickly when cooked. They are ideal for a wide range of recipes, from soups to stews to sauces. Use them in marinara sauce, on Neapolitan pizza, or in an anytime BLT.
How is it made?
The skin of the tomatoes is removed gently with steam. After that, they are nestled in a velvety purée and canned to preserve their freshness.

Cooperation with WWF Italy
Mutti has worked closely with the WWF in Italy to help farmers find sustainable ways to reduce their water consumption and CO2 emissions. The Italian WWF not only set goals, but it also allowed farmers to analyze and review data to identify what they can do. For example, the organization recommended the use of special sensors that recognize the moisture content of the soil and provide useful information to support efficient water use.
Mutti invested in technology, education, and technical support for farmers and agricultural organizations. Even after our five-year project came to an end, we are still as committed as ever to minimizing our environmental impact and improving every step of our production.

HOW TO USE
Peeled tomatoes are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. You can use them as a filling, as a tasty and decorative element for focaccias or pizza, or simply cut them in half and serve them as small appetizers. When cut into pieces or mixed together with the purée in the can, they work wonderfully well in all kinds of pizza or pasta dishes. Lightly heated, Pelati bring out the flavours in seafood.
