Tomato puff pastry trees
Fun and festive puff pastry trees filled with tomato passata. The perfect appetizer to share with family during the holiday season!
Made with Tomato puree
Mutti® Tomato Puree (Passata) is sun-ripened 100% Italian tomatoes transformed into sweet velvety puree with just a touch of Mediterranean sea salt. After eliminating the skin and seeds, the tomatoes are pureed to achieve a smooth, luxurious texture while maintaining their bright red color and naturally sweet flavor. Fantastic in marinara sauce, tomato soup, or even a Bloody Mary.

Tomato puff pastry trees: Method
- Start by seasoning the tomato passata with olive oil and salt.
- Roll out the first puff pastry sheet and evenly spread the tomato passata and plant-based grated cheese on top.
- Lay the second puff pastry sheet over the first one, ensuring the edges align perfectly.
- Using a smooth-edged pastry wheel, cut the layered pastry into strips approximately 2 cm wide along the long side.
- Take a strip and fold it into an accordion shape. The base should be wider, and the top narrower to resemble a tree shape.
- Insert a skewer through the center of the tree, starting at the bottom and ending at the top.
- Place the trees on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving a small gap between each one.
- Bake in a preheated static oven at 200°C (390°F) for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
