Ingredients

  • 6 pork sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 yellow / red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup garden peas
  • 1 400 tins of Mutti Polpa Finely Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups medium-grain rice

Rice with sausage, peas and peppers: Method

  1. In a large pot, brown sausage over medium-high heat. Remove from pan to a paper towel-lined plate.
  2. Add onions and bell peppers.
  3. Saute for about 7 minutes or until onions softened.
  4. Add sausage back to pot. Add in Mutti tomato sauce, water, and rice. Bring to a boil and then cover and reduce heat to low. Add peas and season with salt / pepper.
  5. Cook on low for 20 to 25 minutes.
  6. Lift lid to stir and check to see if rice is cooked.
  7. Serve with some fresh parsley, and side salad.
